UV-C disinfection
High-energy UV-C radiation triggers photochemical reactions. Radiation with a wavelength of 185-254 nm is absorbed by the nucleic acids of the cell and leads, depending on the dose, to killing or damaging the bacteria and mycelial embryos.
Therefore, UV-C radiation is used for the targeted elimination of microorganisms (such as bacteria / viruses, yeasts and molds).
Ozone disinfection
Ozone (stgr. Ὄζον [ódzōn] - fragrant), trioxene (O3) - an allotropic form of oxygen consisting of three-atomic molecules. It has strong aseptic and toxic properties. It is used, for example, in the disinfection of water and plays an important role in absorbing part of the ultraviolet from the Sun to the Earth (see the ozone hole).
